12 v outlet cover source?

Postby nevadatear » Wed Apr 22, 2009 11:07 pm

we purchased several 12 v outlets online for our tear, but they didn't come with the usual rubber covers seen in car powerpoints. With two curious granddaughters, we are looking for a source for the rubber caps. Have searched online, wally world, kraken, napa, lowes, no luck so far. Any ideas?

I saw them at Autozone yesterday. They were in the area you can get replacement rubber brake peddle covers & thing like that. They were $8.99 each.

I had the same problem. I ordered 12V receptacles to be installed in my custom-built Pace 6x10 trailer, but they came without safety caps. It seems likely my kids would stick a finger to see "what happens". I couldn't find a ready source of them online, but just this morning picked up two at our local BMW/Mini dealer while my wife's Mini was being repaired. They were about $6.50 each. I'd bet almost every car dealer has that part available.

Check out your local RV/Trailer parts store. I bought some for my van years ago. Look in thier electrical or lighting section.
I cut it three times and it's still too short!!

For the price you may find the plug and socket for $3.39 each from delcity a better option. They do have a $25 minimum but with all they sell that may be easy to fill. :D Danny
