O2 fan conversion

Postby MOKI SEAKER » Sun Jun 07, 2009 11:21 am

I bought an O2 fan at Walmart for $13.00. I then went to Radio Shack got a couple of switch's. I now have a vent fan for less than $20.00 that work great. The fan reverse's and goes forward, has a high and a low speed and is hooked into the trailer battery. Pics in my album. Jim G

Jack,

It appears that he mounted the fan assembly with hinges and some sort of latch so he can drop the fan to access the vent.

That really is O 2 cool! 8) couple of ??'s: Why the new switches, I'm assuming that the original location is not accessible when mounted.
Did you find it in the automotive dept (since it's 12v)? Good work

It didn't have a switch for reverse so I installed one. I got the fan in the sporting goods section at Wal mart. It would normally run on 8 "D" batteries I think that is 12volts so I threw away the stand which is the battery holder, I didn't care for the original switch so I changed it also $3.24 at Radio shack. The fan swings down to allow access to the vent crank. Jim G. :D

...yeah, I saw the hinge/latch setup BUT, all the vents(w/screens) I have seen had a crank sticking down into the cabin, the crank was located just off center and would interfere with a tight-against-the-opening fit and would have required removal of the crank to fit the fan............

p.s. a screen is an absolute necessity down in my part of the woods...eslewise, the skeeters would tote ya off for their own fun and games..............MJ

Your right I didn't include enough pics. There was enough room for the crank and motor. You darn sure need screens down in your part of the world, I think the skeeter mate with the gators. Jim G
