i am getting everything ready to build, i have a question about power i was thinking on just running a deep cycle battery, i will have very minimal power drawn from this(small tv, radio, internal light)can i run just strait wiring for this?i have found a few sights where they have clamps that hook to battery with a lighter socket on the other end, then connect to a three way connecter which would be like plugging in three cigarette lighters, is this a good hook up since i have minimal power usage? thanks for your help.......fast freddy

Are you building and looking to put the wireing in the walls or are you looking for a use and store type cord. I wired both of my builds with
12 - 3 extension cord the black wire was hot (positive) the white was ground and the green just grounded the fixture back to the frame. The green hook up is kinda anal thinking and is really unnecessary but it was there so I utilized it. If you are looking for a use and store cord I would still use an extention cord the outside sheath offers extra protection for the wires. Most automotive sections of the bigger stores offer a 1 into 3 12 volt splitter. It is designed to plug into your cigarette lighter and will give you 3 female 12 volt plugins. You could cut off the male end and then wire direct to your cord. I would not feed it direct from the battery, go Battery to fused block then from the fuse protected side feed the wiring.
"Fuses we don't need no stinking fuses " YES YOU DO !
I made the no fuse mistake and smoked a BUNCH of wireing during my 1st build.
Growing older but not up !
