Don't want to blow it up

Postby pawp » Sat Oct 16, 2010 3:45 pm

Safety question ya'll. I would like to put a 5# LP bottle on the left side of my tongue box in an enclosed, bottom vented box-- and --place a battery in a similar closed box on the opposite side appx 3' feet away. Both boxes will be inside the tongue box. Each box will sealed as much as practical. Am I designing in a potential problem. Any experience will be helpful.

As long as both boxes (chambers) have good flow through ventilation an nothing in battery compartment is allowed to arc there should not be any problems...

Propane is heavier then air and tends to pool in low places so bottom venting is mandatory on propane side , hydrogen gas is lighter than air and tends to rise upwards so high up vents for battery side...
