:o boy that is a good one. Some LED's are expensive enough to protect them all. What you don't want is to have to rewire it if there is a problem... Be very sure to fuse any outlet you are going to use for electronics.

I got a marine panel and it is fused between the battery and the panel. Got it at Bass Pro Shop... Not too expensive.

Sean,

I'm using a 12 vlt Blue Sea model # 5026 fuse panel with 12 terminals, I'll be using 15 amp blade fuses with one 16 gauge wire run to each 12 vlt outlet or light. I'll have a fan, 3 lights, 2 -12 vlt outlets in my cabin and 2-12 vlt outlets and a light in the galley.

Safer to do it right rather than just guess.

1. Calculate the Amps used by the products (adding them up).

2. Determine the safe wire gauge needed (based on #1 calculations).

3. Select a fuse based on the correct wire gauge limitations.

Everybody does it differently.

I had a power center with places for twelve 12V fuses so I used most of them. One fuse for the two porch lights, one fuse for the two reading lights, one fuse for the fan, one fuse for the galley light and so on. I then used appropriate fuses for each one, from 15 amp to 5 amp (the picture below shows all 15 amp fuses during install).

Since all my wires are buried where it would be impossible to get to if one went out, this method allows for one circuit to be fried and most of the lights will still work.

Not a perfect system but it works for me.
