Honeywell Generator found at Costco

Postby cuyeda » Wed Feb 02, 2011 1:44 am

I came across this generator at Costco while shopping. The price looks decent. Already own a Honda and like it very much. Perhaps look up some reviews. For the price and if I didn't already have one, I probably would have purchased this to give a try!

There are some VERY negative reviews (amazon) along the line does not last long and when it fails they can't fix it.

Well I took the plunge and bought one of the Honeywell 2000 generators from amazon. Recieved my unit last week after a free 2 day shipping from Amazon. Even after reading the reviews (bad) I still took the plunge because the other websites I found it on all had good reviews. I have come to the decision that the people writing those amazon reviews were either Honda employees or they just didnt read the owners manual.
So far mine has been great....starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull. Runs great. Maybe a little louder than the Honda. Great on gas... Worth the 450.00
Any questions about this genny.....just give me a shout

Well gentlemen.....I cant see where people are having problems. I know they have done some changes on the unit. Such as no primer bulb and no DC outlet. I have used mine several times now and it s going good. Having spent over 11 years in the army as a Power Generator Repairman.. I have worked on alot of power gens. And this one seems to be doing alright. Get on fuel economy....starts easy.
Only thing I see is that it is a little louder than the honda. But I can live with that. I have found reading alot of reviews on this Generator that some people are just not very mechanically inclined.
I m sure like anything else.....there might be a few bad apples out there. But hey....I ve bought expensive cars and trucks that have had problems too.....not a perfect world.
Have a great day

I ve learned one thing reading reviews on alot of stuff. Its not always the truth or some people cant be pleased...... I say....if you wanna test the Honeywell gen....buy one.
