Again I forget most here have very small trailers with very minimal power needs. I've heard several times they just want to run a vent fan for a night or two..We have a converted cargo trailer and a couple kids.. So It has everything from a microwave to a 12v fridge and radio. We don't have to have a ton of power but just running the fantastic fan, radio, water pump and a light here or there will drain a battery pretty quick. Much less trying to run the microwave or my boot dryer single battery.
I guess if you just use a amp or two a day solar might be worth it. LoL at any rate I guess we can all agree that the OT of running a AC on solar isn't very practical!

I run my cpap (same amperage as fan), fantastic fan on high, lights, watching a dvd in the evening - my 120A deep cycle will last 2 nights. I put an 85 watt solar panel on my TD and my battery is recharged before noon on a cloudy day. With my tear, there is a bed inside and my portable dvd player (that has a battery) and I also usually charge my phone overnight. No microwave, no water, no pumps. Totally worth it for me!

I can see where a fully loaded CT couldn't run on battery power at all. It's all about your needs and how you like to camp. Nothing wrong with full loaded (talking about campers here.. er um, the thing you camp in! hehe).
