Smoke Test

Well I performed the smoke test on the inverter install and the Vectron battery monitor, none escaped. The inverter uses a 30A DPDT switch and feeds the 120 AC circuit beakers from either shore power or the inverter.
The Vectron needed only to have the amp hour of the battery input and it works very well. I particularly like the % depth of discharge measurement.

You need gen-you-whine replacement wiring harness smoke, like the manufacturer fitted in the first place:

I will have to disagree strongly. Getting that stuff through customs is a bear. If your going foreign than get the premmier jamican electrical smoke.

Well, whatever brand you buy, avoid the dehydrated smoke. It never works. Unless I am using the wrong type of water . . .

Lucas, by far, makes the best electrical smoke. It's only shortcoming is that it doesn't leak oil.

I may be deficient, but in all my years of letting the smoke out of electrical parts, I've never been able to put it back.

Maybe my equipment has been lacking a "smoke replacement port?" I've been blowin' smoke at it for years with no good results.

As you would expect Lucas makes the best kit for putting back smoke that's somehow leaked out ('practice makes perfect', you know...) and here is a photo of the full kit with filter (for smoother smoke...) and pressurisation valve:



And I think, forest747, your Jamaican smoke isn't necessarily fixing any problems - it's juss makin' ya faar more chilled out, mon......

It comes with a box of Betty crocker brownie mix with each order. Which is perfect to chill with after trying to find the smoke ports

Got any pictures? I'm thinking of replacing my automatic transfer switch with a DPDT switch as the overhead to the solenoid is 1/2A.
