HELP!!

Postby jpmo66 » Thu Mar 15, 2012 2:08 pm

I am finished with my tear, except for one thing ... the trailer lights... I have the harness that came with my HF Trailer... I started this in the fall, and had all kinds of gremlins, the directional on one side would work, but not when i pressed the brakes...the top bulb was on one side and the bottom on the other, etc... I gave up as the weather and time ran out... I read all kinds of posts about this and decided my problem is the ground... I hooked everything up made better ground connections, and now the running lights work... but no brake or directionals at all...

Now, I am afraid it has something to do with my configuration. I am using tail lights from RW Johnson... therefore i added rear side running lights, I also added a light for the tag. Could this have anything to do with it? Does anyone have any ideas? It is making me crazy!

Many people have had grounding issues with the bolt-together trailers, myself included. Did you run a ground wire from the harness around the trailer to each of the light fixtures? If not, I'd start with that.
