The specs for those linked agree with my empirical measurements: they spec 48W per 5 meter strip, or about 10W per meter. My no name strips consume just under 1 A per 30" strip or about 10 W per meter (+/-).

High brightness LEDs are great, but they do consume serious power. Don't expect a strip of those high-brightness LEDs to be ultra low power like my 4-LED cabin light (it draws about 50 mA). I can run the low-brightness LED forever on my battery. My two LED strips consume almost 50X that, but with lots of brightness difference.
