If the depth of the switch is an issue, try looking on the internet at the stuff available in Europe.

I was in Poland last year and went to their version of Lowes/Home Depot called Castarama. The other store was Leroy Merlin. They had the low profile switches which are rated for 230/12vdc operation. Small profile and lots of designs to choose from.

I believe the store Leroy Merlin had a website available.
