How to wire 12v switch?

Sorry for the late reply, computer problems.

The switch that I have is indeed like the one in your photo. Other than the words "20A 12VDC", it has absolutely no markings whatsoever on it. I'm gonna give it a go with the info you posted and see what develops.

I owe a big round of thanks to DaleM.

I just finished an all systems op check on my trailer and the switch operates just as I wanted. I hooked it up where the light only comes on when I want the fan to operate.

The straightforward explaination and the diagram were very helpful and the key to success for me.

Thanks for staying on point when passing out advice. That approach made it possible for me to do this correctly on the first try.
