Adding a power center to my Mobi

Good morning,

I'm in a wiring mood. Today I finished adding a 20amp system to it so that I can run a heater and a computer. Long story short, I simply installed a Marinco 20amp inlet and made the necessary corrections to some 12ga wiring to make it work and work it does, just fine.

Now, I'm considering going a step further. I'm thinking about adding a Parallax 6730 converter/charger : http://www.parallaxpower.com/6700/6730_ ... elines.pdf

My question to all of you electronic geniuses is simply this : following the directions in the above link, I should be able so simply wire it in and not have to worry about the wiring already in the TD. I have wiring installed already for 1 12v outlet, for two lights, and for the lights on the trailer. Installed the Parallax should not adversely affect their operation, correct? The only thing shared will be the battery. Oh, and when being towed, my truck alternator charges the truck battery and the Mobi battery.

I am really curious to see how everything looks wired up. Could you post some pictures when you get a chance. I'm still doing body stuff to our mobi before I can do the electrics.

Hi Matt!

This is what things look like so far with the 20amp setup. Now, mind you, I went through the cabinet. When I put in my 30amp system, I'll go through the galley, left most part.

This is the 20amp inlet from Marnico:

12ga extension cord with 20amp female to mate with the 20amp Marinco Inlet pictured above:


I forgot to take one of the extension cord plugged-in, but I think you got it. I was concerned that the cord would pop off of the inlet, but it is on there pretty good.

Good placement. I can see that you can take power into the cabin or back in the kitchen. The white plug blends in well.

Exactly! I just need to be careful to not overdue it on the amps.
