bh, I have looked at those type units before and have seriously considered one as an alternative to the very expensive Engels/WAECOs and such...would sure hate paying 600bux plus for one of them but with an ice maker, you would have all the ice you could use while camping and not havvta make that special trip out just to get ice for the coolers................

Well, the link ain't working for me right now, but I have a compact Ice Maker. It makes round "cubes" with holes in them -- like small tubes. They are great for drinks. Kind of big for in the TD, though. I never took it with me to any gatherings because of the size.

That is also the web-site I got mine from, and they were great!

I camped next to a guy that had one and he offered ice so every time I heard it cycle while he was away I would go over and get 20 or so round cubes. Thing was with his, it made ice but didn't keep it frozen, the container portion was just insulated, as the ice melted it would recycle the water and make the ice again. It also had a reservoir to poor water in. It still was pretty nice though We all had plenty of ice for the rum drinks. and I didn't have to chip any off of my blocks of ice in the coolers.

That is exactly like mine. It makes ice pretty fast, but it does not keep it frozen. But, it continuously makes more.
