WFCO converter question

I have looked all over this forum for the answer to my question but I can't find it, so here goes.

The converter has wires that are designated for the 12 volt appliances and a "hot" wire that goes to the battery. I understand the 110 volt wiring system and that the converter reduces the shore power 110 volts to 12 volts then to the appliances via the above mentioned wires. My question is about the "hot" wire going to the battery. Is it designed to only charge the TD battery or does it also allow 12 volts from the battery to go back into the converter then out the 12 volt wires. Do I need to design a system for the 12 volts being supplied by the battery or will the converter wires work, even though it is not plugged in to shore power?

The "HOT" wire to/from the battery supplies power to 12 volt accessories. It is also used to charge the battery while connected to shore power.

Thanks Mike for the info and the website. I thought that was the case but I had enough doubts that I was not comfortable hooking up the wires before I asked someone knowledgable.

I emailed the company a while back with a few questions about their converters. Here is a picture that they sent me.



If the converter list 4 DC circuits then one circuit is dedicated to the battery and the 3 remaining circuits can be used to power 12V DC stuff. When the converter is connected to 120V AC shore power the converter will charge the battery and supply power to the remaining 12V DC circuits. When not connected to 120V AC shore power the battery will supply power to the 12V DC circuits.

Hi Dan, Thanks for the quick response, answer to my question and the schematic. I appreciate your help. I feel comfortable going ahead and hooking up my wires now.
