Two LED interior lights, one, 50 bulbs. Any one using these

Postby kayakrguy » Sat Aug 14, 2010 8:23 pm

Hi everyone,

I have found a 50 bulb LED surface mounted interior light at: http://tweetys.com/14-50-led-surface-mo ... light.aspx

They also have this double dome light:http://tweetys.com/double-dome-white-led-surface-mount-interior-light-kit.aspx

Does anyone have any experience with either of these products? If so, how well do they work for you?

I am thinking of getting rid of my incandescent dome lamps in the cabin and galley and going all LED--reading lamps already are LED. I wanna be able to use battery power longer between using shore power...

Best to all,

Jim

From experience, if any thing it likely to be a bit too bright. None of ours have more than 12 SMD's
But it will work.

Interesting. When you get it installed, could you please post a picture of it, turned off and on?

I installed a florescent fixture that is about that size but I'm not totally happy with it (too bright). Yours uses .35 amps to my florescent's 1.4 Amps and it would be slightly safer, so that's a bonus, too.

Hi folks,

We're on the road from NY to Seattle and Portland via Colorado and RMNP--so I have not been on-line. I am still debating getting the LED's. The 50 bulb one I would probably put in the galley to replace the two incandescent 12v dome lights we have there. We have two LED reading lights which are fine for defined beam reading use. They would not be so hot for area lighting use....

I used this one to replace the lamp in my dome light

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/ ... mp_T10.htm

I used the 24 led one. It's good enough that I'm going to leave it but a warmer colour and maybe a little brighter would be nice.

I used this one in my galley ( 12" - 30 led warm white).

I'm very happy with the brightness, colour and coverage.
