And it looks like Mark wanted to make people aware of a less expensive product that would work for TD people too. I used the manual disconnect too. It was a lot cheaper and I'm on a budget.

I bought two different manual disconnect switches. They are both still in my spare parts. If I need to "turn off" the battery, it is easy enough to turn a wing nut counterclockwise a few turns and remove a cable. This method works for me and everything you need is included with the battery purchase.

Quite simply, I could not decide on a good place to mount the disconnect, and decided that it was an unnecessary convenience. One that I could live without.

There's always more than one way. It is up to the individual to decide which might be best for their own purposes.

Sorry Dale. I wasn't trying to hijack your thread, just giving an alternative for people if they were searching for battery disconnects.

Dan, I looked at the literature and could not find what the amp draw was. It's a cheap little meter I found on eBay and the supplied literature is sparse to say the least.

I got it off eBay. It was less than $10 shipped. I can't remember the exact one I bought but here is one that I think is the same.

Since this thread is already way off topic from the OP, I'll throw this in.

I bought this one from Harbor Freight, $2.99 on sale. Got it out of the package and ran the disconect knob up, and it just spun on the bolt. I took it back, and they gave me another. I opened it at the store, it ran up, but after I tightened it down, the knob spun on the bolt again when I tried to loosten it. The manager and I went through 4 before I just told him to give me my money back.
