Its really quite simple.... IF you are using a flat four plug and light wire (kit?) the white wire is the ground. it is uaually connected to chassis of tow vehicle. it goes through the flat four plug, and it may either be grounded to chassis of trailer or extended to each lamp holder ( tail/stop- marker) on trailer body/chassis...
This image shows ground connected to chassis.
Its really simple to continue ground wire on to each lamp holder.
