I read here where Bruce recommended not sending much thru the "load" part of the controller, but again this was a long time ago in regards to technology. I don't have an inverter, so my lights/USB outlets could probably go thru the controller. The solar controller instructions are vague - "No big loads (inverter)" or something like that!

I assume you have a PV controller with load control? If so, the load rating is generally the same as the controller rating i.e. 10 amp PV controller = 10A maximum load control.

My experience is the converter, controller and charging from the TV play well together.

Thank you, Bruce. That helps.

My controller is 20 amp, and I won't be using more than that at a time, so I can send my load through there. I was going to put a fuse at the battery before my fuse/distribution box, I suppose I will now put it between the PV controller and the distribution box.

Should there also be a fuse on the line out of the PV controller to the battery?

I like the MRBF fuses at the battery (assuming you have bolt in connection instead of a post). That way the fuse is a close to the battery as possible, which is the preferred location for your main fuse.

Why not run the wires from the solar controller to your fuse box? It doesn't have to go straight to the battery.
