Hoppy tail light converters - good service

Postby wannabefree » Tue Jul 19, 2011 9:24 pm

Posting for those experiencing "converter burnout."

I wired my trailer with LED lights so I wouldn't have to track down and replace my flasher with a heavy duty one. Since then I have burned out 2 tail light converters. After a while the brake lights quit working, and it kills the TV lights, too.

I contacted Hoppy last night and they told me the converter I was using is not intended for use with LEDs. They are sending me a new "LED compatible" converter - no charge, no questions. You might say that's the right thing to do, and it is, but I have dealt with plenty of companies that would try to get by with less.

It's nice to run into a company where integrity matters.

So I wonder what one is to do if they have two (or more) trailers, one with LEDs and the other with incadesent bulbs?

Convert non-LED trailers to LEDS.....

They make the LEDs so you can replace the filament styles bulbs with LEDs its a 1156 or 1157 -LED....
