Sam's Club Marine/RV Duracell Battery vs top tier Batteries

Postby Lgboro » Sat Mar 03, 2012 7:44 am

Has anyone used the Duracell Marine/RV battery (AGM) sold at Sam's Club. I am days away from needing to buy a battery for my build and wondering if this battery will hold up a couple of years of tear use. It has an 18 month non prorated replacement and I was thinking that even if it lasted 2 years I could replace the battery 2 times and still not run more $ than some of the more expensive batteries. If they happen to last longer the savings would multiply significantly. I don't mind taking a chance as to correct would only be a $ issue and not require additional work to fix.

This is actually the Deka Intimidator (9A34M). It is re-badged as the Duracell.
I use this for the solar setup on my shed. Works great for my application which gets more use that the trailer will.

This is made by East Penn http://www.dekabatteries.com/default.aspx?pageid=1491 , usually marine batteries are a compromise but these are new enough there is little information about them.
