Is it Amazon, Lowes, HD, Autozone, Walmart, eBay, or any other place?

I bought it by the foot from Parts Express. Haven't compared prices lately so I don't know if it's cheapest.

Wire is wire. Sort if. Stranded wire is what you will use Just google wire gauge calculator to figure the size.

As far as cheap, I've always found a good search engine to be my friend. Just remember that wire is heavy, so shipping may be a factor. I've seen lowball numbers on price only to be shocked at checkout because of shipping

Places like DELCITY and WAYTEK who deal in electrical items have large selection of wire (all price ranges) and fuse blocks and terminal strips and ground bars and connectors and switches and ????.... Usually have better quality and selection than big box store and better pricing....

https://www.delcity.net/
http://www.waytekwire.com/products/

If nothing else just peruse sites to see what is available in the world.... I usually find better products when I get out side the "box" and go to "general" suppliers for what ever project I am doing and ...

I'll second Waytek Wire as a good source. Only complaint is you can't get shorter cut sections of some of the multi-conductor cables, but that is more due to their being a supplier to the vehicle customizing industry rather than the general public. They will still sell to you. BTW, I've bought from them allot. Take a gander over at their overstocks and discontinued items. I picked up a couple 250' spools of gray #10 wire for less than the price of #12. I just use permanent markers to put color stripes on the wire. Normally I'd buy white wire, but when I went to buy the gray #10 was at an irresistible discount.

My work was throwing a bunch of wire away from an equipment tear out. I asked the boss if I could have some for my build and he said take as much as I like. He didn't want me to take it for recycling but to build my Tear was OK. Free wire was the right price.

Here is where I jump out and harvest some 14 gage dual strand insulated wire.

Yep vacuum cleaner power cords.................

Usually color coded black and white I leave the white as ground and the black is hot. Most cords are 15 to 20 foot most trailers are 8 to 10 so a couple of cords will generally wire all the 12 volt needs of a tiny trailer.
Growing older but not up !
