Speaker Wire for light DC loads

Postby qwerty11 » Wed Jul 10, 2013 12:35 pm

Any reason I can't use speaker wire for light DC loads not greater than 5A if it is properly sized?

Shouldn't be any problem with it. I've used RCA 22 gage for lighting before but it was only 9 volts.

I used either 16 or 18ga for all my 12VDC accessories. Some of my LED strips pull 6A.
