Both use DC, not AC. What ports are you talking about?

Wow this has gone off the rails.

I thought you were talking about aircon ports, and putting a Zamp jack in place of one of them.

I definitely want to keep the AC shore connection, as my brother camps at campgrounds and I could see meeting up with him on some weekends. Easier to just use an electric hookup if it's already there (and I'm already paying for it).

Oh....OK. I misinterpreted your first post. You want to use A/C style plugs or receptacles to pass DC power.

Nope, not a good idea, as has already been discussed. Too easy for someone, (not you), to plug in an A/C shore power cord, and fry your equipment.

Would it work? Sure, would work great, if it was you, and only you, ever, that hooked things up. Sometime, somewhere, maybe after you're gone, someone is going to have to hook it up, and they won't know what you know about the situation.

Just my 2-pence.....Roger

A very valid 2-pence. Mindlessly connecting some wires seems like something I would do eventually.
