Little Guy 5 Wide replace bulbs how to

Postby davidreidok » Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:31 am

New little guy 5 wide 2012 model owner and have a newbie type question.

Finally got out to camp in the little guy with a electric hookup post. My first time to have electrical hook up.

Replacing the circuit breaker gizmos got the lights working. Plenty of light.

I would like to replace existing bulbs with leds.

I did a look at the stock fixtures and do not see how to remove the fixture covers to get to the bulbs. Do the covers just snap off ?
I do not want to break anything.

I am sure I am over looking the obvious.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Photos or a model number would help.

I just replaced all the incandescent bulbs in an RV my wife bought with LEDs. Easy to do. Our covers/diffusers pull sideways horizontally away from the fixture, then down to remove. Bulbs just pull out. There are many types of bases so take one out before buying.

Little Guy owners may be few and far between here. If you don't get an answer, you might look for a Little Guy Facebook page or try posting a photo of the light.

on the outside lights, I was able to find a little indentation and was able to pry the cover off.

It was a bayonet bulb and I was able to find a led replacement bulb and ordered same from amazon.

looked at the inside lights and they may be just a push in fit. I was able to use a screw driver and pry open slightly one edge. But I did not use more pressure because there was resistance and I was afraid I would crack something.

Bottom line is I am still looking for information on how to get the little guy five wide interior lights opened up.

There's also a Little Guy forum: https://forum.golittleguy.com/

Doesn't get a ton of traffic but someone there might know. A picture of the light here would help a lot too I think.

my first time to upload a photo hope it works

this is the interior light photo

I could get a screwdriver blade inserted between the light and roof, but was afraid to add much pressure as I did not want to tear something

Haven't run into anything like that one. Maybe its a turn five or ten degrees clockwise (or anti-clockwise) and then it pulls off? Give it a light handed try.

If nothing else works and breakage occurs they are not too expensive to replace. I know that is not too helpful though :NC

I had some questions but answered them myself when I found the LG owners manual on-line. Seems the LG's run all 12V, and when plugged into 120VAC a converter charges the battery and supplies power to 12V lighting and appliances. So the lights are 12V. Unfortunately - they don't tell you how to change the bulbs.
Certainly from your picture it looks like the fitting is rivetted in, then the cover snaps over it.
The manual had the address of the supplier. I guess you could just ask them.\https://www.golittleguy.com/dealers/files/918_LGOwnersManual.pdf
