Perhaps a bit late responding but, Chris this sounds like a great place for a gathering plus it has the added advantage to being very close to the Durango/Silverton Railroad. I stayed overnight in Durango back in 97 but didn't have time to ride the train, maybe next time....

Some of the best camping in the Northeast can be done in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. There are many State and private campgrounds throughout the park. At the risk of sounding like a travel brochure, it covers nearly six million acres and is the largest state or national park in the lower 48 states. It has 2700 lakes and ponds and over 30,000 miles of rivers and streams. It has over 2000 peaks and 46 Mountains over 4000 feet. My wife and I love Guntersville. We are both from Mississippi and used to live in the northern part of the state. We visited the park every year for Memorial day weekend. We are in Indiana now and havent been back for about 13 years. That reminds me, we need to plan a trip down there. Gotta get the TTT finished.

We were there last weekend with the TTT, I could not believe how many people were there! It is still one of the best in the state.
