Question on a portable grill...

So I saw this nifty Blue Rhino grill at Lowes... http://www.lowes.com:80/pd_184543-42600-GBT10039L_4294857759+4294837370_4294937087?catalogId=10051&productId=3178789&Ne=4294937087&currentURL=%2Fpl_44_4294857759+4294837370_4294937087_&N=4294857759+4294837370&identifier=44&langId=-1&storeId=10151&ddkey=http:CategoryDisplay

... and it says it runs on LP gas. Since it shows a small bottle I'm wondering if this means a green Coleman log type or something else. Does anyone else have one or can tell me if the same propane canisters I use for my stove will work for this grill?

Gah. Sorry for the long url - tiny url wasn't working for me today. :(

LP = Liquid Propane.

So yes it runs in 1 lb propane bottles.

I just want to be sure, since my logs say propane fuel, and the specs on the grill say liquid propane. I don't want to get screwed over by semantics. :)

The owners manual says it works with 1 lb disposable tanks. (The kind similar to Coleman.) Take a look at page 8.http://www.bluerhino.com/BRWEB/BlueRhino/media/MainMedia/PDFs/Products/BBQGas/GBT10039L-OM-103_ES.pdf
Hope this helps.

Check when your there and they probably have an adapter for it so you can use the bigger tanks with it also. I have one with my Weber and alot of times when we're camping with a group I'll take the bigger tanks and a tree (my word ) that sats on top of the tank and will have the LP lantern on top, aline to the grill, and a line to mu stove all at once. That way I don't have to carry 4-5 different 1lb canisters around. Just a thought for ya!!

Cliff

I love these little stoves, I have 3.

They don't like the cold though.

I used one in early May for morning coffee in about 45 degree temps.

It took about 45 minutes to make a pot of coffee.

Don't get rid of your Propane.

Great find.

Happy Trails

Len

Good deal for me

Add from last weekends paper for K-Mart showed Northwest territory grill/stove on sale for 29.99. Which was in error it was actually 42.99 but because they had not cought it and posted in their store that the add was in error they had to sell it to me for the price that was listed in the add. I was lucky that I was the first customer wanting to buy it. Regular price was 49.99 It was the Deluxe Two-Burner Stove that was on sale for 29.99

Actually, LP Gas = Liquefied Petroleum Pas, which is also known by it's common name, propane.

You can use the small green bottles, or with an adapter hose, use the big bottles. They are both filled with propane.

I have this butane stove that I got at AceMart Restaurant Supply.

It has a great range, from simmer to 15,000 BTU scorcher.

However, as mentioned by others, butane dos not like cold weather. I keep a bottle inside for the night, so it will be warm for making breakfast in the morning.

BTW, AceMart is also a good place to get the butane canisters for Coleman and other butane stoves.

I use an adapter to connect to the 20 pound tank in the front of my trailer that feeds the furnace. Propane needs to
evaporate at the top surface of the liquid inside the bottle. The bigger bottles have a greater mass and a larger
surface area so they do better in colder weather. That is why the small bottle frost over so easily in colder weather.
I use the adapters to feed a two burner stove and a BBQ grill. The grill does much better off of the big tanks. I need
to get a T adapter so I can leave my furnace regulator and grill and stove hook up all at once.

Hey All,

I have to agree with " Astrotrailer ".
My grill was advertised to work with a small propane canister.
However, it lacked any pressure to keep the flames lit . The only " 100% " reliable method is to use a larger fuel (Higher Pressure) source; i.e:
