bobhenry,
I love the picture -- thanks! I also liked the idea for containing the possible breakage in socks (and that you also mentioned they were clean)... that made me laugh.

I have never heard of a beer bandalero until now, and I agree, that would have been useful for storage of the glasses. Seeing that though has got me to thinking, what about a mailing tube? I wonder if I could put some glasses in that, and just separate each one with something? Socks?! I will have to see if the tubes I have are too narrow for my wine glasses. They sure would fit easily into one of the smaller cabinets in the teardrop.

Cheers,
Michelle

No, I haven't toted that much flour camping, and usually have itty-bitty containers for the dry goods. I like that everyone is thinking outside the box though, some great ideas being suggested.

Cheers.

When one is HAVING wine it must be in a proper civilized vessel.

Now, if one DRINKS wine it can be in a red plastic throw away cup. I guess you have to make a choice. Are we having wine tonight? Or are we drinking wine tonight?

Now, right out the bottle thats a GUZZLE. Nothing wrong with it, just calling it what it is.

Having wine :wine: Drinking wine :P Guzzling wine :tipsy:

And when you are HAVING wine it must be in a proper GLASS wine glass my wife told me so.

In the background you can see the homebuilt wine rack ( the black area between the cabinets) and the glass racks I made out of scrap 2x4 and 1x4 out of the trash at work.

YEP ! she likes her wine glasses.

I've taken two wine glasses tent camping with the wife.
We just rolled them up in the sleeping bag. lots of nice cushion in there... even fell on the pack and sleeping bag mountain hiking once with no breakage.

I bought 4 wine glasses that came in a lightweight cardboard box. I put the box in a softsided cooler, added a couple of poly wine glasses to take up the extra room in the cooler. I hung the cooler from a hanger on the inside of the SideKick.

1,191 miles up to the UP of Michigan and back last week, and they're still intact.

I guess it's just that wine seems better when drank from a wine glass :D

But, I'll tell you that the wine tastes really good out of plastic glasses for the annual fishing trip in August with my nephew, great-nephew, my brother and myself

Out of the bottle....sure, if no wine glass if available. :applause:

Well Randy, I think the rule is you NEVER drink from the bottle unless it is the second or third bottle.
