any thoughts?
heres my "lunchbox"
http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=56326I plan on having a cabinet above the sink, and a light up under said cabinet. would there be a better choice for a type of light that doesn't attract bugs?
im doing some searching online right now, but any insight would be appreciated.

Some LED's do not give off UV, which is what attracts bugs!

The blue toned white LED's don't seem to attract many, if any bugs; but, they don't give off as much light or as good a light as the others.
Another idea is to use the porch-style lights that come with both a clear and a yellow translucent covers and use the yellow cover at night.

May be a bit off topic - But if possible place the light away from where you want to be - If it's bright enough to cast light to where you want it - then the bugs will be attracted to the bight light and away from you - Also - learned this lesson - no longer will I place light outside beside the door - looks good to have an outside light - but not when the bugs come a buzzin"

The translucent yellow cover solves that problem.
The yellow leds might, as well.

I have red LEDs in the galley and underneath the teardrop. They don't seem to attract bugs.

I can't cook or read using red LEDs. I have "night vision" red LEDs in several of my fixtures because they were intended for marine use, but I find the red makes focusing difficult.

The red LEDs are just for ambient lighting. I have 12 volt incandescent lighting for cooking and other tasks.

LED's for reading but I use an orange rope light for outside. You buy them at Halloween and they are great.

For our exterior "porch lights" I used amber LED's but come to think about it the regular LED's in the fixtures in the galley do not appear to attract bugs much. They are a 3200K color temperature.
