Northstar Trailers 5'x9' trailers

Northstar Trailers northstartrailer.com makes 5' x 8' and 5' x 9' trailers for hauling ATVs. They may be good trailer frames and running gear to use to build a teardrop trailer. I called then awhile ago to ask if their trailers can be purchased without the side rails and ramps used for ATVs for le$$. They said the kits are manufactured and packaged in China. If there is enough demand from teardrop builders they "might" (hoping to encourage them to make a version ready to go for teardrop builders) be able to sell them (for less) without the side rails and ramp. Was told a teardrop builder from Las Vegas used their trailers.

I like that they have one piece sides, 13" tires, a GVWR of 2000 lbs. and a composite tongue. They should be easy to license, too. The 60" wide by 110" long trailer seems like a good one for a 5 x 9 or 5 x 10 teardrop trailer.

Home Depot sells the 5' x 9' Northstar-Trailers-Sport-Star-2-trailer-kit-5-ft-x-9-ft for $749.00. and another 5' x 9' Sport-Star-5-ft-x-9-ft-2WG-trailer-kit-with-Rear-Gate-NS2WG for $799.00

Everything is more fun in pairs! Take two large ATVs on the Sportstar II . Easy side loading for "drive-on-drive-off" capability. This trailer has a steel frame for strength and a durable powder-coat finish. Spare-tire mount is located on the top of the tongue to accommodate a spare tire, jack stand and gas can rack. Ramp gate with side-loading ramps. Multi-leaf springs. DOT-approved lighting.

• 2000 lbs. GVWR
• 13" x 175 Tires
• 2 x 15"W x 66.5" EZ Ramps
• 60" W x 110" L Deck
• Heavy-duty mesh floor
• Weight: 480 lbs

Has anybody here used a Northstar trailer to build a teardrop trailer?

If you have how do you like Northstar trailers?

Someone at Grant's forum wrote about using one.

Maybe if enough people contact Northstar to realize there is an unmet need in the market their company could easily fill it would encourage Northstar to sell a more economical version, without the ATV parts, available for teardrop builders. A 5' x 9' trailer without ramps, side rails, or a steel mesh floor would fill a void in the market.
