Marathon trailer sold at homedepot

I am planning a new trailer build, has anyone heard any feedback on the 5x8 trailer sold on homedepot.com, the trailer is built by Westbrook trailers. It cost 1099.00

This is the same trailer I’ve been asking about that is sold by Tractor Supply. See discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=75388
It looks like a go to me. The only concern is the axle is a little bit close to the center so you will need to plan to put a bit more weighted items towards the front. I think they’ve only just come out with the trailer recently so there’s not a lot of reviews yet.
You can call the customer service line and they answer the phone which I think is great. It’s made in Canada so I like supporting slightly more local construction. And the 12 inch tires are good, they have a speed rating up to 87 miles an hour, which is much better than the northern tool trailers which only have 45 mph rating on some of them.
My 2 cents.
I may be getting the same trailer, so maybe we can trade notes as we go. I need to sell a few cameras to pay for the trailer first.

I don’t think this kind of metal can be welded as easily as steel? Does anyone know?

It combines steel and aluminum I think.

It requires increased power settings to weld, and requires the same safety precautions as normal galvanizing. You're best off grinding the coating off before welding (which still requires normal galvanized safety precautions).

In other words:
Can be done.
Needs more juice.
Toxic.
Extra work.

GALVALUME PLUS TM
Galvalume Plus™ is a specialized combination of 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicone topped with a clear acrylic coating.

Ask some real Pro's yet to me it sounds like a diluted aluminum to save on costs and not really sure of the strength benefit.

Now if not re-fabing and staying with the ratings of the tailer, sounds like a decent one!

Realize this is an old post, but just to be clear, galvalume is a plating treatment akin to galvanizing; not the alloy that the trailer is built from.
