Just curious, what's the vertical member on the new tongue for?

I had mentioned to my welder that I might want to add a support for my spare tire on the tongue (not the one he added) and he had already welded this when I got back to the shop. I may shorten it and use it for a real secure way to transport my propane tank. Its thin wall stock and should not add significant weight. At the price of a tank and the gas to fill it may be worth a couple of extra lbs.
