I see this 5x9 trailer on HFs' site. Anyone have any experience with it?

No experience with the trailer mentioned. But it does have welded on side rails and a hinged ramp. Great for hauling a riding mower. :D

As Steve says, OK for haulin a mower or quad bike. If i was to use it for a tear chassis, i would weld up the bolted joints. Ive seen to many Meccanno trailers with stress cracks on the bolt holes, and with a tear on top the chassis isnt as visible as it is in normal use

Are you looking for a 5 foot wide deck? That trailer is 5' wide including the tires/fenders.

The main frame (deck area) of that trailer is 71 5/8" x 49". All of the trailer specs can be seen here.

Harbor Freight does make a 5' wide trailer but it cost a lot more.

It has welded on sides? The picture looks like it shows bolts for the sides. I hope it doesn't have welded sides, cuz that would put an end to that!

ENDO that is an awesome offroad teardrop! Would love to see some specs on that!

Thanks! I don't have a "build thread" started on the off-road teardrop but I do have a few more pics in my album.
If you have any questions about it I will be glad to respond.

Quick summary: 5x8 with a pull out kitchen/galley, roof-top tent for our 2 boys.

That is a good lookin rig, Endo! If you are up near the lake at all this summer, let me know, I'd love to get a look at that little monster! I like the idea of putting the kids in a rooftop tent, no one would get any sleep if I tried to get all 3 of us inside, and if I can ever talk the wife into camping, well, then somebody might get hurt!

5x8 option

Postby Alfred » Fri May 22, 2009 11:16 pm

Northern Tool has a 5x8 trailer they sell already assembled, better than the HF trailer, I think. I believe it is $329 in the catalog but they put it on sale sometimes for $299.
