I agree. I also observed that if my 185# carcass stands on the bumper, it only drops about an inch.
I also read up, somewhere, about how to measure for the drop or rise of the ball mount. With the trailer level I'd need something 15" AFF. I was able to use a 3" drop ball mount to equates this so I should be all good. I'll learn more on the first outing. I'm thinking that it's important to keep the trailer level for best results. So if I need to use a 2" ball mount, all is well.
The trailers TW is only going to be around 100#.
I almost forgot about this thread. Thanks for the heads up and the reminder.
As a side note, I weighed the four bikes and the bike rack. It was
138 total lbs. Plus, visualize that that weight is hanging deep off the hitch. I don't know much about compound leverage but I'm sure it adds substantial weight. Point is that 100# of TW is nothing.
