Dexter Torsion Axle Quote from Redneck Trailers

Postby GeoDrop » Mon Sep 28, 2009 4:32 pm

Just for a point of reference for everyone... I spoke to Jeff at the Wichita, KS branch of Redneck trailers to get a quote on the Dexter Torsion axle. Jeff was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions and quoted me a price while on the phone of $207.20. This was for the #9 axle (1100-2000lbs) and idler hubs with EZ-Lube. I priced out a leaf spring system from a local trailer supplier and came out to $190.

Seems like a great price and great service for sure!

We have a local welding supply outfit, who are dist for Redneck. This is great for me since I don't havvta pay any shipping...my last #9Dexter was 170 bucks(3 yrs ago), along with 10.75w steel fenders for 16bux apiece...your post points out something else...SHOPAROUND...there is a great difference in prices different suppliers charge for the same or similar products...git 'er dun

My new Dexter No. 9 was $207.78 at Sixroblees in Seattle (Tukwila) Wa.

The freight quote to Juneau, AK via barge is $102.58.

Should be here on the barge this week!!!

While the freight cost is high, that's pretty reasonable to Juneau from Seattle...and Sixroblees just hauls them down to the barge and sticks them on...so no hassle and they are glad to do it.

I think I paid about $229 for a #9 from Redneck Trailers. (No delivery charge - I picked it up myself.)

Just as a followup. My Dexter #9 Torsion Axle was $233.53 from Redneck Trailer in Wichita. It was cheaper to pick it up than have it shipped, so we drove down to get it.

Axle weight: 73.6lbs
