Trailer purchase for new project

Postby Indiana Dave » Wed Dec 21, 2011 9:57 am

There is a sure trac 5 x 8 trailer for sale locally for $ 250.00.
Here is a link to the same trailer :http://www.equipmenttraderonline.com/find/listing/2010-Sure-Trac-5-x-8-ft.-Homeowner-96587671

Would this make a good trailer for my teardrop build?

Comments appreciated.

It looks like a good alternative to a Harbor Freight.

There's some superfluous stuff to remove (wheel chocks, stake pockets, etc) but that shouldn't be hard. The 13" wheels will appeal to most folks, though the 450lb empty weight means that it's not the ideal trailer for an ultralight.

Thanks for the reply and points well taken.
Just out of curiosity does anyone know how much the construction would add to the overall total weight since my capacity to tow is 1000lbs.

I would also appreciate anyones additional input on the trailer selection.

Thanks

Update: I went back the same day and spoke with the owners and they said it was already sold. The next day it was gone .
I am still on the hunt though.
Thanks for the help.
