I purchased the Northern Tool $299.00 5 x 8 trailer and a spare tire today. I noticed the axle is mounted above the springs so the trailer sits lower than the HF trailer. Time to start build # 2.

Yes the trailer is on sale. I called NT&E in Forest Lake, MN and the salesman said that the sale good for sure through Sunday though at first he said all month. So I am not sure yet just when it will exactly end. I think I might run out and purchase one. Gotta get started ya know :)

This is info from Loader from my introduction picture. He also included a picture of the flyer but I wasn't able to get that to come across to here.

I picked one up today.... The salesman told me today was the last day.
It's just nice to look at and imagine the possibilities

We have our Silver Shadow that we love, but this will be one to tinker with over the summer. No hurry and no worries.... just teardrop time.
And, I have no idea what we will do with it when it's finished.

picture of the NT&E trailer for 299.99

Postby LittleCritter » Wed May 16, 2007 7:05 pm

Well, I've started the journey of a Teardrop builder. Here is a picture of the Teardrop Trailer I purchased at NT&E in Forest Lake, MN today for 299.99. They have it listed as 319.99 but I mentioned to the salesman that it was posted in a flyer in the Houston, TX area that advertised the trailer for 299.99. Anyway, he looked on the listing for the Houston store and sure enough it was 299.99 so I got the 299.99. Thanks Loader for scanning the ad in. I also bought a spare trailer for it just like Smokey Bob. Thanks for mentioning that.

Here is a picture of the trailer I bought. It is hooked up to the truck. It was only vehicle that had a hitch on it. The van will be getting a hitch for the purpose of traveling with the lil' critter.

Nice! I had called the Forest Lake store also when I saw a 5x8 for that price. I'm hoping to pick one up for another build this fall. Hopefully they've still got them! Thanks for the picture. Still haven't stopped by NT to see what they look like. Now I know!

could someone post the actual dimensions of the trailer?
Might be helpful for some future builds.

Okay, Here are the dimensions I measured from the 5 x 8 trailer I bought at NT&E.

The tongue is 36 inches long.
It is 60-1/2 inches wide x 96-5/8 inches long.
2 inch angle iron
It is 60 inches from the front to the axle and 36-5/8 inches from the axle to back of the trailer.

I spoke with a Northern Tool Sales person today about the trailer. He said that is a person signed up, and was approved, for a Northern Tool power card, that up to 10% could be taken off of the cost of the trailer.

That would make it even cheaper than the sales price (the sale that is over now).

Just pay off the bill before the interest hits!

What is the coupler size (the ball)?

Looks like the sale is on again--it was in today's newspaper ad. Planning to pick one up on payday!

I just got one from my local NT. The $299 special is back through 7/17 (I think). Without a floor, it flexes ALOT!!! Except for the tongue, the whole thing is angle iron. That's ok. It sure has me thinking Puffin and Squidget thoughts.
