Hey KDog-
I got my trailer from redtrailers.com. We drove out and picked it up from their PA warehouse. Not too far of a ride.

I also ordered my www.redtrailers.com trailer this week. It should be arriving any time soon.

Whether you need brakes or not depends on how much your TD/TTT trailer will weigh and what the laws are in your area and maybe even if your tow vehicle is lightweight or heavy or if you have a lead foot going down hills.
(California's max. weight for no brakes is set at 1500 lbs.)

There are no doubt other good trailer companies but I bought my 5x8 from Redtrailer and am happy with the quality. When I thought I was going to need brakes, they were even going to work with me to adapt it. But, by using Andrew's weight chart and paying attention to the threads here in this internet forum, I was able to cut down my TTT weight instead. My purchased trailer kit was a partial bolt together, with more welds than most, which, to me, was a good buying point. The instruction manual wasn't perfect but it was complete enough that anyone with reasonable smarts could use it and put their trailer together. Plus, when I had a question, I called Customer Service at the main office in PA and they readily answered it....Good Service.

The Redtrailers company has two distribution centers (that I know of), one in PA and one in CA . It might depend on your location. Maybe only one of the centers is out of that size?

Which trailer is best depends on you and your circumstances and only you can decide. I would consider all options, including Harbor Freight, before deciding.

Best Wishes,
Sharon

One more thing:

When I was trying to decide, I read a couple of articles that said if you've never welded, don't start with a trailer. (I'm not a welder.) If you are good at welding, that is not an issue for you.

Sorry...sometimes I get long-winded.
