I would really have to think registering the trailer in Maine and then transferring it to PA would be much cheaper and easier.

I have to check with PennDOT, but transferring the registration wouldn't be a problem. Its the titling of the trailer that is the issue. And registration in PA requires a PA title to be issued, and vice versa. PennDOT sucks.

Yeah, I know about the Maine thing. I've posted in that thread numerous times, and done it before. But I don't know of anyone who tried to transfer into PA. I never looked into it. I'm 99.9% sure that they would require you to apply for a PA title, which all goes back to this process.

I don't know of anybody who has transferred back to PA. from ME. either. Probably there in "PA. Shell Shock"

But, at least coming from ME you have Documentation from another States DMV stating that it was registered, it states the weight and I think that would cut a little more Red Tape.

At least one would think that.

AAA tells me that all states recognize other States DMV Procedures.

Yes ME. is a non-Title State and if transferring to PA. you would have to apply for a Title.

However, I have no problem though living in PA. and pulling a Trailer with a ME. registration...I've done it for years!

After trying to jump through PA's lengthy, costly and ridiculous Hoops several times....I simply don't want to play that game. ME. registration was my solution.

Happy Trails
