Hey Bud, When I first saw your frame I thought, sand blast and powder coat. After seeing 48Robs hit I have changed my mind and agree with him. With all you would need to spend to make the used trailer frame sound you could probably build new. You won't have to convert someone else's idea into your TD dream. Cheap, fast, run it till it blows is another reasonable thought.

Being the king of cheap I salute you !

I think you have the makings of a fine frame for a mid weight teardrop.

My barn has a single tongue which I reinforced with a truss underneath and I still get a little side to side wiggle from the flex in the long single tube. This addition would add a few pounds but will greatly strengthen the tongue and reduce the chance of failure.
