Coyote, FYI the hitch ball attaches to the "draw bar" (... the "coupler" is the part that is attached to the trailer, and the draw bar inserts into the "receiver").

I think you (BSB) would be fine spacing the frame and spring mount with a piece of tubing, provided that the tubing has appropriate wall thickness or bolt sleeves to keep it from crushing under repeated load cycles. By thru bolting in box tubing you are actually collapsing the tube some when you tighten the bolts. Over time with repetitive load cycles, the tube can settle and the fasteners can get loose. For a relatively narrow tube with reasonable wall thickness this might not ever be an issue, but the best way is to insert or weld in a bolt sleeve (anti-crush sleeve). The best no-weld method uses pipe or tubing sleeves that are as long as the square tube is tall, less one wall thickness. On one side of the tubing you drill your bolt holes slightly over the size of the bolt, and on the other side you drill the holes the same size as the OD of the sleeve. The sleeve slips inside of the tubing and is captured in place by the bolt at assembly.

Thanks nobody I won't ask but I think I may not need any mods after all I didn't have the trailer yet and wasn't sur I would have enough clearance between wall and tire but just went and bought the trailer and got most of it assembled that is except for the parts I'm missing but it looks like I will have 3/4 inch clearance got 20% off trailer because box was tore up and then he threw in an extra tire with rim and hub for free pretty good deal
