5' x8' no floor trailer at Northern tool for $299.00

Postby surveytech » Sun Apr 08, 2007 6:52 am

Just opened the sunday paper and was browsing through the northern tool sale flyer. Low and behold at the top of the front page is a
5' x 8' no floor trailer built by Carry-on for 299 bucks.
It looks identical to the 4 x 8 that TSC sells. So I wonder if is a misprint or not.( is it really 5'wide or is this a misprint?) I dont see any info about it on the Northern Tool website so it may be a store only thing.

Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone looking for a frame.

I think Carry On is the brand sold by TSC. You can get a 5' wide model from TSC but they are special order. That price seems like a steal for a 5X8 trailer. Wish we had a Northern Tool in our area, I would have to get one (already planning #2).

Yup! Carry On is the manufacturer of the TSC trailer.......in fact all of their trailers. This one looks just like the 4 x 8 no floor but the ad sez its 5 foot wide. May be a misprint, especially at $299.

Went by northern tool today to look at that trailer. Where the tongue attaches to the trailer it's a lot stronger than what the pictures shows.

It appears to be only at their stores and not online!

I have gone by a couple of times and it seems to be on sale often for the $299 price. The springs are not as stiff as the Harbor freight trailer. If I stand on it and bounce they move. You have to have a lot of weight in the HF (1475#) trailer before the springs move. The frame is angle iron, might be good for a teardrop. I am going to try to go by and take some pictures of it.

I just came from TSC and looked at the 4x8......$350.00 The question I have to anyone that might answer outloud is this ....... Is the tongue strong enough? Or is it a decent trailer to put a 4 x 8 on?
