weather proofing the floor

Postby halexanderwilhelm » Thu May 29, 2008 8:03 am

When I start to waterproof the floor of the camper I would like to avoid using tar and I was wondering if I could use a roll on bedliner like herculiner or something. Are there any other alternate products that I could use, or better yet anything enviromentally friendly?
Thanks for the help!

How has your floor held up? Any application/handling tips or tricks, and how many coats what prep was required?
Thanks for the help! :)

I'm still building my teardrop, therefore don't know how mine will wear, but there are a bunch of other people on this forum that used this product and that's where I got the idea. I also figured if it's good enough for a wooden fence post in the ground, then it should work for my trailer. I didn't have to do any prep. I put 2 coats on just to make sure and I also made sure that I got every nook and cranny. I didn't want to miss anything.

trailer coating

Talked it over with my grandpa and were going to take some scrap ply and try a couple of different methods for road proofing, see how it holds up to scrubbing, pressure washing, road salt, etc.

That sounds like a great idea! Let me know how the testing goes!
