when you buy an old trailer frame or trailer

I am sure there are others that can add to this who have gotten old trailer units or frames.

#1 replace or have the suspensiton system checked.

I have old shocks on mine (after some driving) have begun to leak. and if I can not get them off the shop will have to look at it and do the work. It could mean a new axel with suspention attached.

# 2 which I did do replace the bearings and the hub holding the bearings if needed it is worth it.

#3 if you thing the bearings are ok regreace them Clean off the old grease and put in new and regreasing should be done (somebody help here how many miles of years apart?) if you are amonitor you can edit this in!!

#4 get the old paint off and look for rust and fix it.

#5 put in a new hitch not a used one I did and it brock.

#6 put on new wheels and tires

#7 attach the wires (see 8 )to the bars underneath so if you need to trace them you can at anytime.

#8 replace the lights with LEDs they seem expensive but well worth the price.

#9 research how floors are put on frames someone has an idea that will work best for you.

#10 ask lots and lots of questions you have the best of the best here for the answers very experienced Men and Women who love this stuff.
