Mr. Sulu...go to Warp 9

Even Mr. Scott would have cringed beating the warp out of my new frame today!!! Perserverance, some strategic weight placement and well applied pounding did the trick though....

Dave,

So I guess this means that #2 is underway! Can't wait to see your build again.

My frame had a little warp too. Nothing that a hydraulic jack and 4x4 couldn't fix.

Nice touch with the hydraulic jack, I never would have thought of that. My next step was to run over it couple times with the F250. Yep...the Denail is underway finally!

Cold bending with levers, hammers and hydraulics can be fun. But don't leave out the Oxy/Acetylene torch. Applying enough heat in the right place will often cause warped metal to "snap to". Heat is also often the reason it has warped and needs "adjustment". Just remember that the metal will move toward the heat source unless you get it too hot at which point the molten puddle will move toward the earth (unless it is a VERY windy day... ).

When I have had an exceptionally bad day I have found that taking a bit of metal out to the anvil and beating it mercilessly is a purty good tension reliever. In this case it is not necessary that the metal be in need of reshaping, just consider it "very noisy doodling".

Hydraulics work well too but require more care to prevent busted hide and broken bones. Just know the weakest link and stay out of the way of it.
