Skinny Tires and Wheels

Postby Lit'l Shinee » Tue May 11, 2010 6:13 pm

I need a spare tire and wheel for my TD and have had no luck finding what I need. If anyone can point me in a direction to find the following, I would be very grateful. I have been working on it all winter and want to go to a rally later this month but with no spare, the trailer won't leave the yard. I didn't build the trailer but bought it and finished it.

Here's is what's on it now:
6.00 - 16 tires Columbia Deluxe tube type
Wheels are 6 lug with clips that hold Chevrolet baby moons

The fenders make it impossible to put wider tires on it, not enough clearance between fender and tires. I don't care if the wheel has clips since it will be the spare.

Any sources for finding these appreciated.

Thanks,
Shinee

Those wheels are pre-1947 and you may pay dearly for them. I saw one listing on eBay for a set of 5 with tires but local pickup only.

If there are any local antique car clubs, check with them

Your in luck. I have traded some camper parts for, of all things, a pair of Chevy 6 lug, 16" powder coated wheels. Black, either NOS, or very nice condition. I will send you a pm

Only thing familiar about that post is the word "Karo ". :?

Used to put Karo syrup on my pancakes when I was a puppy !

This post also has nothing to do with skinny tires but at least it is camping related.

Sorry for the hijack but I was in shock from trying to understand the previous post.
