You say 3x8 but what is the out to out measured at the tires ?.
My 5'7" wide tear is on a 4x8 HF axle set without a problem in 8,000 + miles. Remember wheels under the body is an acceptable look also.
My biggest concern is always the tongue. Is it a single tube, a "Vee" tube, or best of all a "vee" with a center tube? How far does the tongue extend under the trailer?
You can cantaliever the sides out and no it won't tip over![]()
Best of all the price is right![]()
Like someone said pics please!
I have seen 1st hand the aftermath of "Roadside repaired" tongues and I decided to beef up the HF tongue the 2x2 center section extends to the centerline of the axle. So even if the tongue is a bit "Iffy" you can modify it.

The tongue construction, it is notched and bent. Made out of 2"x5" "C"
Woodbutcher wrote:That trailer looks like way overkill. Plus you are going to have to rework or replace the axle to get a 6 ft wide trailer on it. Looks like way to much rework. I would do like someone else said. Try and trade or sell this one and put the money into what you really need.
