Dexter v AL-KO axle... EBAY DEAL

Postby jmorganix » Sat Mar 29, 2014 1:24 pm

A guy in south Michigan is selling some 2100Lb 25° down ALKO torsion axles on ebay for 179.00 INCLUDING 545 electric brakes... These are all new, surplus.

They measure 50" frame brackets, 71.5 hub face and 77.5" overall. Perfect for my trailer design... http://tinyurl.com/luczkk3

QUESTION...

Am I nuts for considering these? Has anyone had experience with ALKO good or bad? Is an axle really just an axle when it comes to the major manufacturers?

At this price, I imagine they'll go fast, so the sooner I get feedback, the better.

THANKS,

Jenn

His delivered price is the same (without brakes) as my custom ordered Dexter Torflex last summer -$265.

I'm not sure it's a deal.

Mine is an AL-KO axle with brakes.
2000 lbs with 25 down angle.
Going on 4 years without a problem.
Paid over $400 for it in southern California.
Sounds like it is a pretty good deal to me.
