Harbor Freight trailer dimensions??

Postby speederscout » Tue Sep 26, 2023 8:39 pm

Hello everyone,

Can anyone that has a Harbor Freight trailer please give me the height from the ground to the top of the bare frame deck and the same for the tongue (i.e., the distance from the ground to the top of the metal trailer frame, and the distance from the ground to the top of the tongue? Also, the distance from the rear of the trailer to the axle? I'm planning my build, but I can't find those dimensions anywhere!

Thanks!

Hi Phil,

We would need to know which model of trailer. They are available with different size wheels and tire. Also there are different sized trailers too.

This would be the Harbor Freight Haul-Master 1720 4' x 8'. As far as tires, I'm going to replace the ones that come with it, so if anyone could just add what size tires they have with the deck height that would be great.

Will you undersling the axle or leave it stick overslung?

19" from ground to top of frame
18.5" from ground to top of tongue hitch
16" from ground to top of tongue frame
42" from back of frame to center of axle

4x8 1720lb model 62671 with 13" wheels. Measurements were made in the dark using a simple tape measure so don't cut expensive material based on these measurements (order your frame first) but these are pretty good for understanding what you will be dealing with.

Good luck and have fun with your build!
