Been interested in teardrops for quite some time. not sure if i'm ever going to throw my hat in the water and build one, but i do have a 4x8 HF trailer. or maybe i can convert my oooooooooooooooold pop-up into a teardrop. new canvas costs $900 and the plywood underlayment is rotted in quite a few place. since i would need to replace that might as well shape it "right"; right?

My build is on an old pop-up frame and I am quite happy with it. If you cannabalize that popup for whatever you can salvage to use in your build and then use the frame, you're ahead of the game. If the popup is in bad shape it probably won't bring that much money for you anyway. Good luck with whichever you decide to build on.

Welcome! Check out foam stream in the foamie section. I think that was a old Pop up base too. There are wonderful things that can be made from those. Good Luck
